Poonam Patel. Who is she? A visionary, innovator and architect. She has taken a simple everyday item, paper, and re-imagined it into Doodle Sketchbooks in hopes of unleashing your individual and personal creative style. Professionally trained and educated, Poonam received her Master of Architecture degree from The University of Houston. She has received many accolades for her work while in school and professionally, has been featured in the Houston Chronicle and was awarded top-honors for her concept design of Houston’s Shakespeare’s Theater. Her philosophy in life is: "in a world of rainclouds, don’t be afraid to be a sunbeam." Do it…doodle sketches, thoughts and ideas…release your inner creativity!

One of my favorite packs of sketchbooks is by UrbanLoopStudios. Their Doodle Series of sketchbooks is sold as a pack of four and (available on Etsy) features quotes by artists, architects and designers. What differentiates these sketchbooks is they were created and designed by an architect. The quotes appear on every third page, respecting the white space from a design standpoint as well as a creative flow point-of-view. The books come in four popping colors: pink, orange, yellow and purple. A splendid addition to one’s arsenal for inspiration and a delightful treat for the creative in your life.

You can tell architect and designer Poonam Patel is a doodler by looking at the flashy line drawings on her website,www.poonampatel.com. But you might also guess it by the handmade sketchbooks she creates, which feature quotations on every third page by an artist, designer or architect.
